The doors of this maple chest hide drawers for clothing. The center drawer has compartments for organizing jewelry. The top ornamentation and drawer pulls are made with reed inserted in maple blocks. I used three types of maple in making this piece: fiddleback soft maple for the panels in the sides and doors, birdseye maple for the triangles at the top, and curly sugar maple for the framework.
