This music stand was made from steam bent hickory with the wood harvested green from our woods. It was steamed in sections of metal stovepipe using an old gas tank filled with water, supported by stones over a blazing fire to generate the steam. The piece was to look as though it had just walked out of the woods. In actual fact, it did. There is little certainty in producing work like this, but the process is engaging.
